Tricycle Terror

On the 5th February a fox had a lucky escape when a man narrowly missed it and a toddler on a tricycle.

3 children Shane Mellson, Devon Katby and Kieran Wheel were walking home from St. Andrew’s Primary School, passing a rugby ball when Kieran spotted a fox rummaging through Mort Street No.42 wheelie bin. Devon threw the ball at the fox’s head causing it to flee.  However the fox would be back. Meanwhile Wigan Warriors superstar Trent Parrot was driving his Porsche home from rugby training, as he did everyday, not knowing what was coming his way.

As Shane, Devon and Kieran turned into Springfield Road they saw a young child learning to ride a tricycle. After 5 minutes of helping the toddler Shane spotted the fox again running into the road, at the same time Kieran spotted Mr.Parrot’s Porsche, they all knew what was going to happen next.

Mr. Parrot was flying into Springfield Road on the phone and speeding at 50mph in a 30mph zone. He was heading right at the fox but he didn’t know what was going to happen because he was to busy speaking to his wife.

Suddenly Mr. Parrot knew what was going to happen next he was going to crash! At that moment Mr.Parrot threw his mobile out of the window narrowly missing a pensioner, Mrs.Fudge. Mrs Fudge said, ” I was walking down Springfield Road and an electronic device nearly hit me right on the noggin, then it smashed into bits on floor.” Meanwhile the toddler was stuck in the mud on his tricycle. Mr.Parrot tried to avoid the fox but was drifting right towards him. Just before the car hit the toddler Shane made a daring move he stood on a nearby wall and jumped off scooping up the toddler on the way down then… SMACK the car hit side on into the tree. The tricycle was smashed to bits but thanks to Shane no one was hurt.

We caught up with Mr.Parrot who said, “If it wasn’t for Shane I would have been a killer I’m glad I didn’t hurt anyone.” Shane said, “It’s good to be a hero the lads at school won’t believe it.”

FOX FRIGHT

Yesterday one man became a lifesaver as a fox and a little girl made a lucky escape when disaster struck on Springfield Road.

As you will already know a terrible wind storm struck the Springfield area and just about everyone made a lucky escape except one man named Paul Smith. Paul Smith was driving home from work as he did everyday when suddenly a large tree branch hit his car windscreen falling with such force that his foot slammed down on the pedal and he swerved out of control.

Suddenly Paul saw something in the road it was a fox. He narrowly missed the fox but he ran into a big oak tree. Paul leaped out of the car as fast as he could unharmed.  Suddenly the car caught fire.  Paul said to us that he felt so lucky to have been able to get out of the car in time. Next he wafted the smoke away but it wasn’t over yet because when he looked back at the car he saw a small schoolgirl named Niamh age 10 by the car and she had seen the whole accident. Paul started shouting and yelling at Niamh hoping that she would hear him but she didn’t. So he ran as fast as he could and grabbed Niamh pulling her out of the way to safety.

After the fire had been put out Paul said,  “Wow that was so scary but I feel so lucky not to have hurt anybody.” Also Niamh told us,  “Oh I can’t believe it, I just saw the whole thing and when the car set on fire I couldn’t move, I just froze and when I saw the fox run across the road their was nothing I could do to stop it.”

Just to let you know Paul got checked over at the hospital and he was just fine. Unfortunately the fox wasn’t available for comment.

Did you know that foxes cause most of Britain’s car accidents?

Crackers Crash

As Jack Sparrow was driving home from work on Wednesday 4th February at 3 35 pm, little did he know about the chaos that was about to strike. Suddenly the car swerved just missing a fox that had padded out into the road.

It seemed like a normal day for our key witness, Cody, when a speeding car fled down the road just missing a ten year old boy and swerved onto the pavement. This is what Cody had to say, “It was a fox that caused the crash although the driver was speeding!”

The driver got out of the car and was all right, people came gushing out of their houses just as the police arrived. The driver told us, “It was the fox that caused everything and I am so lucky no one was hurt apart from my Range Rover Sport.” The police sent the driver Jack Sparrow in an ambulance to the hospital.

Luckily the driver was not hurt! The police got a big truck to move the car that is no longer fit for the road. The police taped off where the crash had been.

The driver told us, “I will never speed again and I am getting an Aston Martin V8 Vantage.” The road where the crash took place has now reopened and the driver is being charged with reckless driving and speeding.

Finally a road safety officer said, “The number of accidents in our country is absolutely dreadful and the most accidents are caused by foxes. There have been 200,000 accidents and only a few survived.”

FOX FRIGHT

On the 5th of February in St Andrew’s Drive, a fox caused a minor crash.

David Wayne Jones was driving to Tesco when his daughter started to make silly noises and distract him from his driving.

A girl, named Joanna Walker, aged 10, was walking home from school and saw a fox near Springfield Road; not knowing the danger it was going to cause.

A dog was on a walk on Springfield Road, when it saw the fox it chased it straight across the road- there was nothing the owner could do.

Meanwhile Joanna saw what was happening and ran to move the little girl who was playing near the tree. However the little girl didn’t want to move, so Joanna told her the danger she was in which made her move.

The car came and swerved to miss the fox, but didn’t see the dog, the dog was a fast runner so he dodged the car. The car crashed straight into the tree, where the little girl had just been sitting, she would have been badly injured, if it wasn’t for Joanna.

David Wayne told us that he feels so lucky not to have injured anyone, he also added, “I will probably have to get a new car and pay for the tree, but that’s better than injuring anyone isn’t it?”

Joanna told us that she feels quite glad to have witnessed the crash otherwise the little girl, Tanya O’Neil, age 7, would have been badly injured. Tanya O’Neil told us that Joanna is her best friend and she saved her from the car.

Now we know that the fox is fine because a man saw it running away unhurt.

David, Joanna and Tanya have been checked on in the hospital and are all fine. The dog has been checked on as well he is also fine.

Today David is looking for a new car and has paid for the damage to the tree. The tree is going to be dug up and a new one will be planted in the park as the tree has caused several crashes this year already.
