Year 6 have written some excellent stories this term. Here are three of my favourites. Mr. Hoban.

 Hogwarts – The Remix

“Remember, magic is strictly banned unless a teacher is supervising you,” groaned Mrs. Lumb for the 8th time that day. The bell went and Raven had been asleep that entire lesson. “Raven!” shouted Mrs. Lumb. “Wake up, you can go to sleep when you’re  in detention!”

Raven woke up and moaned.

Everyone went outside except Raven. He noticed a wand and a laptop. They were Mrs. Lumb’s property! “Well well well , what do we have here ?” muttered Raven as he grinned . He slowly closed the door and started walking to the wand.

Raven had no intentions of leaving the room, he scanned the room to see if there were any teachers or goblins in there with him.

As Raven got to the wand, a split second away, he suddenly jumped … “Don’t do that!” snapped Harry quickly. “Ah Harry , since you came as an exchange student from Hogwarts you’ve been a pain!” moaned Raven. He took the wand and the laptop and ran to the corner of the classroom.

“I’ll look up … ahah Levicorpus,” Raven said looking it up on Oogles. “So you wave your wand like this and …” Everything started floating even Raven and Harry. The two friends were screaming and then someone walked in, it was Mrs. Lumb but she wasn’t floating!

“Ha ha need help?” asked Mrs. Lumb cockily, “Uh yeah!” shouted Raven. ”Well tuff luck! I’m not helping you fools! Bye Bye you hooligans!” chuckled Mrs Lumb with an evil laugh and then, they disappeared! “I should have stayed at Hogwarts!” groaned Harry “Oh be quiet!” bellowed Raven as lights flashed all around them.

A couple of years later the school had changed, the toilets were clean, the cloakroom was bigger and the best part was the horrible Mrs. Lumb had been fired for being irresponsible. Then on 3rd October a couple of weird, unexpected things flew down from the sky. Was it a bird? No, was it a plane? No, it was Raven and Harry! They were much wiser and couldn’t believe their luck to be at school with no Mrs Lumb.  They studied under Dumbledore’s cousin and stayed until they were 18 yrs old. Finally they worked at Hogwarts!

Magic is Forbidden.

“Remember, magic is strictly forbidden unless a member of staff is present,” Mrs Strictly cried for the hundredth time this year. Then the bell went for break and Mrs Strictly ran frantically for the staffroom door. She wanted some witchy brew. “Test after break!” she screamed from the staffroom door. “Oh no,” Caitlin muttered to herself as everyone in the class was leaving. Caitlin hated school and so did her friend Olivia. Caitlin found magic really hard and wished that she could stay at home all day.

Just as Caitlin was about to leave the class she saw a wand next to a laptop. She then saw that the laptop was logged onto Witch Net where you get all the latest spells from. She crept up to the door and slowly pushed it to. Next she slowly lifted her arm up to grab the wand when…

Olivia popped out of nowhere and scared Caitlin to death. “What are you doing here?” Caitlin whispered.

“I saw you with the wand and I want to help,” replied Olivia. So the girls picked up the wand and searched the net for a spell.

On the witch net they found some spells on how to disappear, how to make the weather and much more. The girls were just flicking through the spells when Olivia spotted a spell of how to know everything. When the girls spotted the spell their faces lit up. Both of the girls thought, if they used the spell they would know the answers to all the tests. Olivia snatched the wand from Caitlin and did what it said on the screen… BUT NOT PROPERLY!

Everything went WRONG!!! Caitlin and Olivia were lifted off their feet and into the air. Suddenly the scared girls started spinning round really fast until they couldn’t remember a thing. When finally the shocked girls were placed back on their feet the class were coming in. “That was lucky,” Caitlin whispered to Olivia sneakily. Mrs Strictly came storming into the classroom with a steaming mug of witchy brew.

“Now class, time for the test,” she said sneakily, “Let’s see who has done their homework.” She basically threw out the tests and then set the timer. When everyone had started she sat down to her hot brew. Mrs Strictly went on her laptop and saw what spell it was on. “Who went on my laptop at break?” Mrs Strictly boomed. Caitlin and Olivia looked at each other with a scared look on their faces. Mrs Strictly saw the girls faces and roared, “Caitlin and Olivia come here.” The girls admitted that they had used the wand. Both of them got zero in the test because the spell went wrong. The girls both wished that they had gone out at break.

As the girls punishment Mrs Strictly sent both of the girls back to Year 1 in the school so that the girls could learn everything they had forgot. This was the girl’s worst nightmare. “Oh no!” cried the two girls as they were moved. “This is your entire fault” Olivia growled. “No it’s not!” Caitlin shrieked. The girls got into a very long and noisy row. Both of them said some words, too rude to write down.

6 years later…

When the girls were back in Mrs Strictly class, the girls still hated school and wished that they could quit. At break Mrs Strictly ran out of the classroom as usual for her brew. Caitlin saw the wand and went to pick it up. “No!” screamed Olivia, “I want to leave school not start again.”

Wigan Witches.

The girls rose from their chairs and started to pour outside through the classroom door. Raven was one of the last girls to leave the class. As she put her paper on the pile she saw Miss Strictly’s wand!

She looked round the deserted classroom and to her delight she saw it was empty! She closed the door and slowly edged towards the wand. She stroked it as though it was worth thousands of pounds! She carefully picked it up and pulled a funny face, dancing about like Miss Strictly!

“Hello, Raven” interrupted Hilda, with a smug grin on her face, “What are you doing this fine day?” She rose up from behind the chair where she was hiding. “Hilda!” shouted Raven.

“Don’t worry, I won’t tell!” grinned Hilda.

“What’s the catch?” said Raven.

“The catch is, you let me choose the spell you do with that wand!” she exclaimed.

“No way!” replied Raven. Suddenly, Hilda started to walk forward towards Raven and leaned out for the wand…

The girls fought for the wand and said some very rude words! Hilda finally got the wand and waved it high up in the air. As the wand came flying down, out of the air, Hilda screamed! The wand fell on the floor. As it touched the ground all the tables and chairs lifted up into the sky. “Look what you’ve done!” shouted Raven.

“Me?” questioned Hilda, “I’ve done nothing!”  Raven took out her mobile and dialled the number for speed text. “What are you doing?” asked Hilda, angrily.

“Clearing up your mess!” shouted Raven. She typed in a spell that she thought reversed other spells and pressed send. But instead of everything getting better, it all went terribly wrong!

Suddenly, Ravens mouth vanished! The same thing happened to Hilda. Next, Miss Strictly walked in! “Oh dear, oh dear!” cackled Miss Strictly, “What do we have here?”

“Miss Strictly, you have to help us!” shrieked Hilda, who’s legs were disappearing.

“No magic allowed” answered Miss Strictly. She spun on her heels and started to walk out of class. “Not so fast!” declared Mr Nicely, the nicest teacher in the school.

“What are you doing, Mr Nicely?” remarked Miss Strictly.

“I’m here to put a stop to your horrible strictness!” he replied.

“I beg your pardon” shrieked Miss Strictly, “I am the best and the loyalist teacher at this school and you Mr Nicely, you are a trainee and have only been here a month!”

All of a sudden Mr Nicely pulled out his gold, shiny wand. He pointed it at Miss Strictly. “Abra-ca-dab-ra, dipodee-doo, make Miss Strictly into a nice teacher too!” stuttered a nervous Mr Nicely. The girls and Mr Nicely stood, amazed, looking at Miss Strictly. She danced about like a robot and to the girls amazement she was no longer a grumpy, old Miss Strictly, she was a beautiful, young Miss nicely. She hugged Mr Nicely and gave him a great big sloppy kiss! Mr Nicely then took her hand and they skipped down the corridor and through the door!

Meanwhile, Raven and Hilda stood, mouths wide open, staring down the corridor. As Raven and Hilda came round from the big shot they noticed the dull, boring, dark corridors where turning bright and colourful. Children were walking out of there class rooms with smiling faces. The girls followed them outside and soon realised, they were all wearing beautiful white cloaks, instead of dull, black ones! It was great!

Life at school was never the same again for Hilda and Raven!
