Today Year 6 learned all about the world of work by starting up companies. Kathryn from Wigan Education Business Partnership told the children how a company worked. After making six teams the children decided on company names. Teams learned how to make origami ducks and swans-not easy!! Finally they went to work making ducks and swans which they had to sell to a very fussy customer…ME! The team who made the most profit won. Thanks for a fantastic experience Kathryn. Mr. Hoban.

What a start to the New Year- I hope you have made the most of the snow!!! I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your lovely presents and cards. Well if you are a bit bored of the snow or just too cold to play out tomorrow I would love to hear from you.  Just thought I’d write a quick post to let you know that normal service is resumed on the website- thanks for your patience. Well  I had a fantastic holiday and I am really looking forward to the new term. Great to see all Year 6 back even though a few children look like they need a few early nights!!

What a busy week we have had. We arrived at school on Monday and before we had time to blink the week is nearly over! I’m going to find it really hard choosing stars of the week because Year 6 have worked their socks off in booster classes. Keep up your hard work Year 6. Mr Hoban.

Booster classes started today! We discussed what will be happening in booster classes then got down to work. We started editing Shane’s newspaper report and looked at how alliteration can be used in a headline. Thanks to Joanna for your comment about the website. Keep blogging. Mr. Hoban.
